History of Park Forest Community Association
The Park Forest Community Association (PFCA), originally established as the Park Forest Citizens Association in 1972, serves as a non-profit civic organization representing over 1,700 homes across multiple subdivisions. Governed by a volunteer Board along with Section Leaders and Street Captains who facilitate communication and address community concerns through city channels, PFCA transitioned from voluntary membership dues to funding via the Park Forest Crime Prevention and Improvement District.
Park Forest Crime Prevention and Improvement District
The Park Forest Crime Prevention and Improvement District (PFCPID) was established pursuant to Louisiana Legislative Act 187, which received approval by a majority vote of the community on November 16, 2013. This legislation authorized the imposition of a $75.00 annual property tax on each residential property within the district's boundaries for a duration of ten years. The defined boundaries of the district extend from North Sherwood Forest Boulevard at Big Bend Avenue to Greenwell Springs Road, then to Monterrey Boulevard, continuing to the rear property lines of Great Smokey Avenue, and finally following the rear property line of Big Bend Avenue.
The PFCPID is governed by a volunteer Board of 7 Commissioners. One commissioner is appointed by our State Representative and State Senator. Two commissioners are appointed by our City-Parish Council Person(s) and the PFCA. The President of the PFCA is automatically designated as a commissioner.

PFCPID's Primary Objectives:
- Prevent Crime through education and community awareness.
- Use Smart Technology like license plate readers to deter crime.
- Maintain Police Patrols to keep the neighborhood safe.
- Eliminate Blight to improve safety and appearance.
- Promote Beautification and pride in homeownership.
- Keep Entrances Attractive and well‑maintained.
- Educate on City Ordinances and support enforcement.
- Communicate Quickly through the message board, phone alerts, social media, and the website.
